ABQ Slams, The City of Albuquerque, The Outpost Performance Space, & Bookworks are proud to present the 16th Annual Southwest Shootout Poetry Slam Championship in Albuquerque August 9th and 10th. The SW Shootout is the biggest weekend of performance poetry in Albuquerque this year, with the Preliminary Rounds on Friday, August 9, being held at Tractor Brewing Wells Park and Saturday the 10th at the Outpost for the finals. Poetry Slam is the art of competitive spoken word, and the Southwest Shootout will feature the top poets from Colorado, Texas, California, Nevada, Arizona and New Mexico in team and individual competition. This will be an evening of high-level performance poetry with ten of the top stage poets in the Southwest in poetic competition. The Southwest Shootout celebrates its 16th year and features the top world-class poetry slam teams in the Wild West.

Prelims: Free Show ($7 Suggested Donation)
